Runner rugs are typically used in hallways, entryways, next to beds, or anywhere a longer, slimmer rug is required to warm up a space. These areas are never standard sizes, so a custom rug is imperative to get the look and function just right.
Pro Tips for Designing Your Custom Runner

The length of the runner should be slightly shorter than the hallway's length by about a foot for proper centering. This allows the rug to sit perfectly in the middle of the hallway, creating a balanced look.

Make sure the runner maintains a gap of 3" between the rug and the wall. This gap creates a visual frame and prevents the rug from looking oversized or undersized.

Don't forget the doors, and ensure there's enough room to open properly. This means considering not only the length of the rug but also the pile height.
